Buni approves implementation of new wage structure for Yobe health workers

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the immediate implementation of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure, CONMESS, and Consolidated Health Salary Structure, CONHESS, for health workers in the state civil service. The approval was conveyed through a statement signed by the Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa, directing that the new salary tables for health personnel take effect from 17th August 2025. According to the statement, the implementation covers medical doctors, nurses and allied health professionals under government payroll. The development is expected to motivate workers to put in their best, reduce brain drain, and ensure the people of Yobe State access quality healthcare services. Reacting to the development, the Focal Person Digital and Strategic Communications to Yobe State Government, Yusuf Ali, commended Governor Buni for the decision, describing it as a bold and step aimed at enhancing the livelihood of health workers and improving service delivery across Yobe hospitals and primary healthcare facilities. “By this gesture, Governor Mai Mala Buni has once again reaffirmed his reputation as a leader who listens, cares, and acts in the interest of his people,” Ali said.
