BREAKING: NNPP Expels Reps Member Abdulmumin Jibrin

Announcing the expulsion at a press briefing in Kano on Saturday, the state chairman of NNPP, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, said Jibrin’s repeated public criticism of the party and its leadership amounted to disloyalty.
The development comes less than 24 hours after Jibrin openly suggested that it would not be surprising if he left the NNPP, declaring that he was “old enough” to independently determine his political future.
Dungurawa dismissed Jibrin’s political strength, describing him as a product of the Kwankwasiyya movement and the NNPP platform rather than an independent force.
“If he was truly strong politically, he would have won under the APC, but he failed. It was when he joined NNPP through Kwankwasiyya that he became a House of Reps member. Now he is deceiving himself, thinking he is strong,” the chairman said.
He explained that a reconciliation committee was initially constituted after Jibrin’s appearance on Channels Television, but subsequent statements by the lawmaker further antagonised the party.
“Instead of embracing dialogue, he went further to work against our interest, openly declaring loyalty outside the party. That is why we expelled him. He has no value to add,” Dungurawa stated. The NNPP chairman also accused Jibrin of consistently defaulting on party dues, warning that legal action would be taken to recover the outstanding funds.
“We will drag him to court to recover what he owes the party. It is a constitutional requirement for every member to pay dues, but he has consistently failed to do so,” he said.
On speculation that Jibrin may return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dungurawa insisted that such a move would not weaken the NNPP.
“Politics is about groups and coalitions, and Kwankwasiyya remains solidly behind our leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,” he added. The article was originally published on Politics Nigeria.
